About the brand

Hype-free, high quality electronics for music makers.

You can count on Stonefisher Electronics to deliver products that are:

  • built around interesting, carefully studied analog circuits. Some of these circuits may be novelly concieved, others novelly amalgamated, and some may just be a worthy tip of the hat to well established classics (though you won't find any 1-to-1 clones). If a Stonefisher product makes it to market, it's got something worthwhile to offer.
  • assembled by hand, here in Centerport, New York. At the moment, I prefer designing and assembling with classic through hole components. So for now, this means each device is soldered and assembled by me, by hand, using these supremely neat parts.
  • often designed using vintage, NOS components. I acquired an inventory of pristine NOS components (1,500 lbs on two pallets if you can believe it ) from a long-defunct electronics surplus broker and there were many, many mojo wonders within. Now, I won't presently be making the case that these old mojo components sound better than their modern, (can I say, "thrill-less"?) equivalents, nor that use of these parts should be the reason you buy these devices. But I will make the argument that the Stonefisher devices made with these old mojo parts are terrific regardless. So any expansive, old-soul mojo goodness you might feel when considering the vintage pedigree of Stonefisher's electronic guts is pure cream on top of the inherent kick-ass sound and feel.
  • bound in thougtfully designed enclosures, with understated graphics. A great pedal is a great pedal whether it's got an edge to edge psychedelic mural graphic, a punning reference to pop culture, or no graphcis at all. Stonefisher enclosures will sit most of the way towards the tamer, less-happening, end of this spectrum.

You can also count on the Stonefisher operation to be:

  • easy to reach and eager to please. If you purchase a Stonefisher Electronics product you are entitled to a quality electronic device as well as a friendly point of contact here should you have a question. (I mean, even if you don't make a purchase, you're still entitled to a fast and friendly point of contact.) And that's what you'll get. I don't see a point in doing this any other way.
  • mindful about overwrought packaging and avoidable material waste. As much as I appreciate the art of it (and would probably enjoy designing some of these elaborate packages) I'm going to make a real effort to achieve some half-way attractive packaging that is low(er) impact than some of what I've been seeing. No burlap pouches. No fancy 'unboxing' videos. No spread of little trinkets, and other fast-trash promotional material like that... just a solid device in some practical packaging. Open it. Plug it in. Dig it. And be on your way.
